MARINARA SAUCE
Ingredients
1 (8oz) can of tomato sauce
1 (28oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 tbsp chopped parsley
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1-2 tsp sugar
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
½ cup yellow onion, minced
Salt and pepper, to taste
Rind of parmesan cheese block (optional)
1 tbsp Ultra-Premium Olive Oil
2 tbsp Denissimo, Traditional, or Neapolitan Herb Balsamic
In a saucepan, sauté onion in olive oil over medium-high heat. Stir occasionally until soft and translucent.
Add garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly. Then add herbs and mix until coated.
Stir in tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, balsamic, and Parmesan rind. Bring to a simmer 1-3 hours, stirring occasionally.
Add salt, pepper, and sugar to taste.
